The Border Environment: Includes transboundry water pollution on Nogales Wash, binational wastewater treatment plant, maquiladora visit, discussion of NAFTA impacts, and stops en route at tailings piles and water-related sites.

Conflicts and Resolutions. Ranchers and conservationists seek win-win solutions to land-use conflicts. Sites may include Jelks Ranch, Grey Ranch, San Pedro Valley and areas of urban sprawl.

Sonoran Desert Ecology:

Visit the University of Arizona's Desert Laboratory on Tumamoc Hill, one of the longest continuously studied sites in the world, and trace the ecological and cultural changes over the last century.



Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum:

Late afternoon exploration and special presentations by award-winning storytellers, artists and scientists, followed by evening reception and dinner in the museum's garden terraces.
